WHO WE ARE

architects & interior designers

Our practice is a dynamic and innovative design-led firm comprised of Brazil Associates, our architectural practice, and Studio Brazil, our interiors studio.

We have built a particular reputation for designing, building and renovating many exemplary private residences, providing a bespoke service to our clients.

Founded in 1987, Brazil Associates are committed to producing buildings of quality and maintaining the highest professional standards.

In 2013, we launched our in-house interior design studio, Studio Brazil to deliver the complete fit-out service many of our clients desired.

OUR SERVICES

ARCHITECTURE

Our approach is to fully understand the client’s brief, budget and aspirations to realise a design solution of the highest standard.

Although every project is unique, as an RIAI-registered practice with extensive conservation experience, we follow a structured process based on the RIAI recommended work stages.

-

How we tend to work with our clients:

  • Advise on the potential of a site or property as needed and conduct feasibility studies

  • Designs are developed via sketches, reference imagery and 3D renders, as well as any materials for planning

  • Conservation studies for protected structures are prepared for planning review

  • Establish language for interior architecture and/or interior design with Studio Brazil

  • After planning, iterate designs and details as construction drawings are prepared for tender

  • Kitchen, utility, bathroom and joinery designs evolve to inform the ideal layout of the project

  • Construction stage begins, regular meetings take place and interior design work continues

INTERIOR DESIGN

To provide a fully personalised service and achieve a cohesive quality of design, we offer our interior design expertise through Studio Brazil.

Our team of interior architects, interiors and textile designers collaborate with Brazil Associates Architects from the inception of every project.

-

Studio Brazil offer one of two key interiors services on all Brazil Associates projects:

  1. Interior architecture, limited to key finishes, kitchen and joinery design throughout

  2. White-glove full interior design service which includes lighting, all finishes, bespoke pieces and all soft furnishings as well

CONSERVATION

Our goal is to design a suitable solution so that the original fabric and details of the building are respected, saved and brought to the fore.

We work extensively with older buildings requiring refurbishment, alterations and extensions.

The majority of these buildings are protected structures and some in Architectural Conservation Areas as recorded in the Local Authority Development Plan.

All these buildings require careful assessing of original structures to establish the best way forward for any alterations and extensions in order to ensure the buildings survival and sustainability.

We collaborate with our Conservation team and the Local Authority Conservation Officer to secure consent for our proposals. We are listed as Grade III in RIAI Conservation accreditation scheme.

LANDSCAPE DESIGN

Every architecture project is considered alongside its exterior environment. We create landscape design briefs and collaborate with leading experts to bring these to life.

We believe that architecture does not end where the garden begins.

At a very early stage in the design process, we develop a vision for the landscaping that complements the style and location of the property.

Brazil Associates works closely with leading landscape designers to develop and implement these designs appropriately.

VISUALISATION

We appreciate the importance of our clients’ visual connection to a project.

The intricacies of a design can not always be clearly portrayed in a two-dimensional drawing.

In the early stages of our projects, we believe in exploring our designs in a three-dimensional method with both hand sketches and high quality computer generated visualisations.

Three-dimensional visualisations are not only a design tool but also useful in the planning process.
